What a beautiful summer we’ve had in La Mesa Village! And it isn’t over yet! You can still take in sunny days, warm nights and fun events like the Classic Car Show and Farmers Market. As summer winds down and the Back to School / Fall season starts, we invite you to shop, dine and explore the downtown retailers to help you get a fresh start!
La Mesa Village is made up of a variety of family-owned, small businesses that offer something you won’t find elsewhere. As you stroll La Mesa Blvd and the surrounding streets, you’ll come to find what makes downtown La Mesa such a special place to visit time and time again!
With fall right around the corner, it’s time to refresh that wardrobe! And, clothes shopping has never been so stylish and budget friendly than with the on-trend boutiques in La Mesa Village! There is something for every style and budget for both work and play at locales like Act II Boutique, Diva's Galleries, Fashion Exchange, Sara’s Selections Boutique, and Uneeke Boutique. Outfit yourself for the coming fall season with the latest trends, or something truly unique from the variety of clothing and apparel offered in each store. Visit often to stay on top of their latest arrivals.
La Mesa Village is well-known for their many antique, furnishing, and specialty shops that span from vintage to modern, and everything in between! If vintage finds are what you crave, check out the La Mesa Antique Mall, Bohemian House Vintage, or Time and Treasures. Stroll through the many collections of furnishings and decorative pieces where you’re sure to find a wealth of unique items for your home, or a thoughtful gift. Love the Craftsman style? Mostly Mission offers one-of-a-kind handmade furnishings as well as beautiful accent pieces, lamps and more that will transform your home from good to grand! And, if a more modern take on decorating is your style, be sure to check out Small Batch, which always offers fresh, new décor for the home, including plants, throws and thoughtful accents to spruce up your space.
La Mesa’s ultimate shopping experience - the La Mesa Village Farmers Market! This free, community event takes place every Friday from 3 – 7 pm in the heart of downtown La Mesa. La Mesa Blvd. comes alive with a variety of vendors offering fresh, seasonal produce, unique packaged food items, fresh cut flowers, arts and crafts, gift items, and food vendors. Local stores are also open where you can shop for fanciful items or dine in one of the hip restaurants.
And, the best way to end the summer season in La Mesa? Plan a night to visit the La Mesa Classic Car Show! This free, family-friendly event has just two more dates left – Thursday, August 22nd and Thursday, August 29th from 5 – 8 pm. Not only can you view beautifully restored vehicles and talk to the owners, but visitors can take part in special events that happen each week, including the Women’s Auto Maintenance class happening on August 22nd. Participation is free, but limited. Visit LaMesaVillageAssociation.org to register and for more information. Be sure to bring the kids on August 22nd for a fun Air Guitar Contest located at 3rd & La Mesa Blvd.! DJ, Mike Ryan, will be playing classic favorites for the kids to rock out to and the winner receives a new guitar from La Mesa Guitar Center! And, on the final night, August 29th, enjoy live music from The Siers Brothers! One of our Classic Car Show sponsors, La Mesa Lumber & Hardware, provides a one-of-a-kind stage for our bands atop a flatbed truck!
